Our vast geological dataset has been interpreted within the framework of our third order sequence stratigraphic model, and combined with our knowledge of regional geodynamics and tectonics, to produce a region wide synthesis. The interpretations made in data rich regions (e.g. Gabon, Niger Delta and South Africa) have been used to develop our geological understanding in data-sparse areas, such as East Africa. We use analogous trends and key differences within the region and with the South American conjugate margin to develop a detailed model of the petroleum potential across the region.
