2D Prospector, a new, advanced 2D structural framework-building tool, makes constructing 2D basin models as simple and flexible as possible, enabling you to build a 2D basin model in far less time that it took before – often as much as half the time.
State-of-the-art 3D Temperature Modeling
BasinPT, the Permedia pressure and temperature simulator, now includes a ground-breaking enhanced calculation engine for calculating temperature in 3D models, as well as finer control over thermal basement calculations. The challenges that salt, steep-angled elements and pinchouts can present, can now be overcome, allowing you to generate far superior temperature models.
Unique Scenario Testing in Minutes
Permedia’s unique tool, Mesh Overrides, allows you to generate multiple new meshes within minutes from running various alternate source, reservoir, and seal scenarios for basin and reservoir models. Enhancements include improvements to pressure and temperature overrides. With the help of Permedia, you can now significantly reduce the number of hours needed to do full scenario testing and quickly run multiple model scenarios to truly quantify and understand potential exploration risk.
Rapid Assessment and Screening
Quick prospect ranking and map processing workflow tools, such as Fill-Spill Analysis and Closure and Fetch Analysis, have been enhanced to add additional functionality and improve performance. These rapid screening workflows can be undertaken by a wide range of users to gain insight into the viability of a prospect within a matter of minutes. The Static Migration tool now runs up to 60 times faster than in previous releases.
Intelligent Salt Modeling
One of our salt modeling tools, Salt Editor, now more intelligently aids matching the geometries of salt bodies through geologic time. With this tool, you can now more accurately model the development of salt and the impact that salt has on hydrocarbon generation in a basin.
Better Control and Implementation
Applying and implementing model constraints has never been easier. Our Map Sequence Editor creates an object that can be used in various places in the Permedia software to assign properties through time. You now have even more flexibility to assign properties through geologic time and help save user time.

Petroleum Systems Events Charts is a new tool for presenting key elements of the evolution of a petroleum system to people who are not experts. Events charts can be created from 1D, 2D, or 3D models and feature concise displays that help your organization’s geologists and managers understand the impact of petroleum systems on the economics of their project.
