The Neftex Petroleum Systems Interpretation Module integrates Earth Model data to deliver a suite of carefully interpreted petroleum systems maps - each map depicting source rock maturity and preservation limits to allow you to rapidly assess regional source potential.
The Neftex Petroleum Systems Interpretation Module maps depict interpretations of the preservation limits and the maximum level of maturity likely achieved for regionally significant source rock intervals, all constrained by our unique 3rd-order global sequence stratigraphic model.
Data Application
Our petroleum systems maps are useful for understanding regional trends in maturity and the possible distribution of liquids-rich unconventional resources, in addition to offering a framework for integrating other data for play fairway and CRS mapping.
Data Available
Polygons representing the preserved extent of organic-rich lithofacies are overlain by geochemistry data from our global Petroleum Systems Module database and are supplemented by interpreted maps, wells, charts, sections and other data from the literature. In combination this data allows us to deliver a suite of carefully interpreted Petroleum Systems maps for the Middle East region. New maps for additional regions will progressively be added to this Module.
Each map shows:
- Organic-rich facies distribution, confidence and preservation limits
-
Degree of maturation of source interval
-
Geochemical data and well data that help constrain the source rock quality and maturation interpretations
-
Hydrocarbon fields that are considered to be sourced by this interval, including confidence criterion
-
Detailed note points to reinforce map interpretations
Each map contains a report detailing:
- The lithostratigraphy, depositional environments and tectonic history relevant to the source interval
- Key references and notes regarding risks and uncertainties associated with each petroleum system
- Regional discussion and geochemical analysis
Benefits
- Improve your understanding of key source rock intervals in the Middle East and their associated petroleum systems elements
- Enhance your exploration workflow and generate valuable geological insight with new ideas and play concepts
- GIS deliverable to allow you to integrate your own data
