Neftex® Insights delivers detailed evaluation of the regional sequence stratigraphy, geological history and petroleum geology of North Africa,
one of the world’s key hydrocarbon provinces.
The region covers both onshore and offshore North Africa, from Morocco to Egypt and north to the African Plate boundary with southern Europe.
Following the recent huge political upheavals in this region, large parts of the area are opening up for exploration activities once more. Recent
major gas discoveries in the eastern Mediterranean, most notably the giant Zohr discovery, have also rejuvenated exploration interest in the region.
Extensive subsurface datasets across North Africa have been interpreted within the framework of our third-order sequence stratigraphic model.
These interpretations, along with our knowledge of the geodynamics and regional tectonism, have been used to develop our geological understanding
in data-sparse areas of the region, such as the Western Desert of Egypt. We use analogous trends and key differences to develop a
more detailed understanding of the stratigraphy, structure and ultimately the petroleum potential across the region.
