Julianna Toms, PhD, is the Director of Computational Science and Engineering for Energy (CSEE) at Halliburton Landmark, responsible for realizing the mission of CSEE: creating game-changing algorithms for E&P, increasing the velocity of algorithmic innovation, and projecting the thought leadership of our scientists and engineers to our customers and the E&P ecosystem. The CSEE teams (Subsurface, Drilling, and Data Science) and Technology Fellows report to her.
She has over 17 years of industry experience across operators bp, XOM and industrial research organizations. More recently she spent ten years at bp in a variety of technical and leadership positions, including Seismic Interpretation Transformation Manager for Exploration, Chief of Staff (now called Business Advisor) for the Chief Digital and Technology Officer for Upstream, and Technology Principal for Emerging Technology.
Julianna has degrees in Mathematics (BSc Hons University of Queensland, 1999) and Geophysics (BSc Hons University of Queensland 2003) and earned her doctorate (PhD Geophysics) from Curtin University, Australia.
