Samiran Roy is a Principal Consultant at the Halliburton Big Data and Data Science Centre of Excellence in Bengaluru, India.

He has 13 years of experience in the oil and gas industry, beginning at an IOC as an exploration geophysicist involved in deep water exploration activities. He has conducted numerous training and mentoring sessions for oil and gas professionals and students, and is associated with the Presidency University, Bengaluru as a member of the Board of Studies. His primary areas of interest are velocity modeling, pre-stack seismic analysis, artificial intelligence, and machine learning in the G&G domains. He successfully introduced novel AI/ML workflows for several global clients to solve oil and gas industry challenges. His work in this area resulted in 6 US patent applications.

Samiran has a Masters in Applied Geophysics from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) – Indian School of Mines.
