The roots of Neftex^® Insights lie in our Middle East geology expertise. We deliver detailed insight into the sequence stratigraphy, geological history and petroleum geology of the Arabian Plate; a region that is known to host some of the world’s largest oil and gas discoveries.

The Middle East region covers the Eastern Mediterranean, the Arabian Peninsula, the Zagros Foldbelt and the north-eastern half of the Red Sea. This region holds an estimated two thirds of global hydrocarbon reserves and is widely regarded as the world’s premier region for hydrocarbon exploration.

We have systematically collated and interpreted extensive outcrop and subsurface datasets from across the Arabian Plate within the framework of our global third order sequence stratigraphic model. These interpretations have been used to develop our geological understanding in the tectonically complex Zagros region and in data sparse areas, such as central Iraq. The sequence stratigraphic interpretation, incorporated within the tectonic and geodynamic framework, provides a robust, integrated and continuously-updated interpretation of the geological evolution and petroleum geology of the entire region.
