ABOUT THE WEBINAR
The Permian Basin, U.S. epitomizes the ‘superbasin’ concept. It has a long and successful history of conventional hydrocarbon exploration and has been rejuvenated over the last decade as operators have shifted their focus to developing the basins vast unconventional resource potential.
This webinar will consist of a virtual tour through the Neftex® Predictions online portal to characterize the Late Palaeozoic petroleum systems of the Permian Basin. We will consider the structural and stratigraphic evolution on the basin and discuss how this resulted in the deposition of world-class source rocks, prolific carbonate and siliciclastic reservoirs, and regional salt seals.
The Permian Basin contains some of the most highly prized unconventional acreage anywhere in the world. We will demonstrate how we can characterize a range of geological properties within established resource plays such as the Wolfcamp, and emerging plays such as the Woodford and Barnett.
Finally, we will compare these plays to other established resource intervals in the U.S. and worldwide.
