Rapid Basin Screening
Several basins in the UKCS are still unexplored or under-explored. Understanding regional geology is essential for high-grading areas for further study and the development of new play concepts. In this session, we will show how we can help rapidly focus on areas with the highest potential.
Prospect Generation and Ranking
Through the rapid interpretation of all available data, geoscientists can build structural models and generate as many potential prospects as possible – testing them for viability, and capturing acreage or moving on as quickly as possible. The final evaluation of potential returns can include testing multiple development scenarios incorporating surface facilities.
Once acreage is awarded, a rigorous technical evaluation of the prospect will need to be conducted. This session will show how a detailed interpretation of seismic – together with advanced multi-attribute analysis, time-depth conversion and dynamic structural frameworks construction incorporating log data and well picks – will allow geoscientists to rapidly build a sealed geological model for trap definition, along with attributes extraction for fill prediction.
Once the prospect has been clearly identified and interpreted, further analysis should be done to validate the economic viability of the reservoir. In this session, we will see how geophysicists, geologists, and petrophysicists can collaborate to construct and/or update a high-resolution geological model, providing deep insight for probable hydrocarbon accumulations and new investment decisions.
