Joe Lynch is the Reservoir Management director for the Research and Development Group at Landmark in Houston. In this capacity, he leads the earth modeling and reservoir simulation product development teams. Lynch is responsible for the strategy development and delivery of the software created by the teams.
For more than a decade, Lynch has focused on optimization and uncertainty workflows applied to reservoir simulation. His technical focus includes: understanding the impact of reservoir architecture on fluid flow, the use of optimizers to maximize reservoir performance, and improved incorporation of geological parameters into the history matching process.
Previously, Lynch has worked as a development and operations geologist for various oil companies based in London, principally dealing with North Sea reservoirs and prospects. Lynch has also worked with a start-up venture investigating opportunities in the Russian oil and gas industry.
Lynch has a geology degree and an MBA from Nottingham & Warwick Universities in England.
