Jeffrey Yarus, PhD, is a Halliburton Technology Fellow, his specific areas of thought leadership include earth modeling and geostatistics, and he is the technical lead and senior manager of DecisionSpace® Earth Modeling and Reservoir Modeling software. With over 36 years of industry experience, Yarus was also a founder of Quantitative Geosciences (QGSI), specializing in applied Earth Modeling. In 2006 he joined Halliburton Landmark to build an Earth Modeling software product; now a core module on the DecisionSpace Geoscience Suite.
An Adjunct Faculty Member for the University of Houston Department of Petroleum Engineering, he has chaired a number of American Association of Petroleum Geologists (AAPG) committees, and authored AAPG volumes on Stochastic Modeling and Geostatistics, the chapter on Reservoir Characterization and Geostatistics, and the recent Society of Petroleum Engineers’ Petroleum Engineering Handbook, volume 6.
He has a Bachelor’s in Geology from the College of Wooster and a PhD and Master’s in Geology from the University of South Carolina.
