Halliburton Landmark - I am iEnergy®

Meet Andrew Kirkwood

Meet Andrew. Sr. Director of Formation & Reservoir Solutions at Halliburton. With a Ph.D. in Physics, his career has centered on the use of downhole measurements to develop advanced geoscience technologies and solutions. When he is not in the pool swimming laps you can find him leading a team of over 200 Geoscientists around the world. This gives him insider information to knowledge and experts quickly. He wants his customers to have the same access so his team connects on iEnergy. iEnergy users have direct interaction with industry gurus and PHD’s in a collaborative environment where there is an opportunity for meaningful interaction and client success. This is Andrew, and he is iEnergy.

Machine Learning and Big Data Analytics
Are We There Yet?

Given the complexity of our industry, there are certain obstacles that pose challenges to machine learning implementation. However, this might just be the right solution at the right time; whereby, harnessing its power, we can help our customers improve productivity and optimize drilling programs when we need it the most. The predictive capability alone from big data algorithms has the potential to not only save money for oil and gas companies, but help improve efficiency at the same time. A dream come true? Perhaps, but there is still work to be done in terms of a much-needed paradigm shift that calls for a holistic way of thinking and organizational agility, being adaptive.

Dr Satyam Priyadarshy, Technology Fellow & Chief Data Scientist, Landmark Halliburton, will be speaking and Alvin Barber, Senior Industry Solutions Advisor, Landmark Software & Services will showcase how targeted digitalization can help drive business outcomes, through a technical demonstration at the IIoT and Digital Solutions for oil and gas event in Amsterdam on the 7th & 8th June

As Dr. Satyam Priyadarshy, Chief Data Scientist at Halliburton, expressed in a recent interview, we still have a way to go; but, E&P companies are slowly beginning to adopt artificial intelligence platforms, like machine learning, to transform our relationship to data analytics. In fact, it’s become a hot topic of discussion
