Speaker | Dr. Robello Samuel, Technology Fellow

Dr. Robello Samuel is a Technology Fellow, and has worked with Halliburton since 1998. Regarded as one of the world’s most influential contributors to the advancement of research and practice in drilling engineering, Dr. Samuel began his career working on rigs as a drilling engineer. With more than 31 years of industry experience, Dr. Samuel is a Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE) Distinguished Member, an SPE Distinguished Lecturer, and a recipient of an SPE Drilling Engineering Award in 2016 and an SPE–Gulf Coast Section Drilling Engineering Award in 2013.

Dr. Samuel has taught concurrently on the faculties of various universities, and has held adjunct professor appointments for 13 years at the University of Houston and for two years at the University of Southern California. In addition to publishing more than 170 papers and 12 drilling books, Dr. Samuel holds 18 patents and 75 patent pending applications. He holds a Bachelor of Science and a Master of Science, both in mechanical engineering. He also holds a Master of Science and a Ph.D. in petroleum engineering.
