Abstract:

Operators are always seeking ways to achieve safety, cost, and productivity objectives. In this presentation highlighting Landmark’s automated well delivery process, you will see how cross-discipline workflows are utilized to plan and execute “the right well, in the right place,” providing collaboration between well planners, geologists, and drilling and completion engineers, thus enhancing operational efficiency and eliminating costly steering and drilling zone errors.

This integrated process provides a platform for automatically updating reservoir zones and well trajectory plans, and for running drilling feasibility analysis in real time to help execute wells with surgical precision. Additionally, Landmark’s automated well delivery process is also available in a cloud- and mobile-based platform, allowing asset teams to quickly access and compare planned wells against actual surveys, anywhere, at any time, enabling proactive decision making to successfully deliver “the right well.”

Narayan Shanker is a Technical Advisor for Drilling at Halliburton Landmark and is responsible for presenting innovative exploration and production workflows. Mr. Shanker’s expertise lies in integrated field planning, well path optimization, and operations reporting. He holds a master’s degree in petroleum engineering from the University of Oklahoma, and a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from Rashtreeya Vidyalaya College of Engineering, one of India’s premier institutions.

Speaker | Kim Shih, Product Manager for DecisionSpace® Geosteering

Kim Shih is a Product Manager for DecisionSpace® Geosteering Mobile at Halliburton Landmark. Mr. Shih holds a master's degree in geology from National Taiwan University, and a master’s degree in geology from the University of Houston. His areas of expertise include evaluating farm-out prospects associated with unconventional resource plays (such as the Eagle Ford, Eaglebine/Woodbine, and Niobrara formations), providing technical content for Landmark sales and operations departments, and establishing partnerships and relationships with internal and external customers.
